Sweet are birds in chirp 

Or twitter,

But sounds of beasts are 

Sweet not to hear.

Sweet are winds in hiss 

Or whisper,

But sounds of storms are 

Sweet not to hear.

Sweet are rains in pitter 

Or patter,

But sounds of thunders are 

Sweet not to hear.

Sweet are crackers in whizz 

Or sputter,

But sounds of bombs are 

Sweet not to hear.

Sweet are words of praise 

Or prayer,

But songs of curse are 

Sweet not to hear.

Sweet are songs of love 

Or cheer,

But songs of warfare are 

Sweet not to hear.
