I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I had not closed Alphabet;
But now she writes stories, essays.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I dared not alone to take a step;
But now she shows me my ways.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I committed many mistakes;
But now she rights me, and judges.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I dreaded to open books;
But now she reads nights and days.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I dreaded to play games;
But now she has won many prizes.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I failed to mean out words;
But now she teaches me language.
I do remember the days
When I was Mama's age,
I couldn't make out my youth;
But now she can make the images --
A new sun, new moon, next age.
